"Eeezi-Vent" Nasal Breathing Enhancer
MSRP: $29.95

STOP SNORING
During extensive sleep studies of the nasal insert, it was found to reduce snoring. Because the nasal insert reduces resistance to breathing (see laboratory results below), its ability to reduce snoring is not surprising. Though many snoring remedies exist, ours is more effective, easier to use and indefinitely reusable.

SLEEP APNEA

Tests are under way to investigate the possibility that the nasal insert as a sleep apnea treatment to reduce the effects of sleep apnea.  Sleep apnea is a potentially dangerous condition which, untreated,  could lead to severe complications, including death.

HOW IT WORKS
While sipping water through a straw, if one squeezes the straw with their fingers, the effort needed to get the same quantity of liquid increases.  The more one squeezes the straw, the harder it is to suck.  Similarly, breathing through oval shaped nostrils is harder than it would be if the nostrils were circular.

It is also well known  that laminar flow in a circular pipe is proportional to the fourth power of its diameter (with a given pressure difference between its ends). For example, to double the flow in a tube, only a 20% increase in diameter is required.

This is exactly how the Eeezi-Vent  works.

It gently dilates (flares) the nostrils and changes them from an oval (0) to a circular (O) shape, maximizing air intake for each breath. This simple device has the effect of decreasing the work of breathing while asleep or during competitive physical exertion.

Made from medical grade silicone it is indefinitely reusable. It is easy to insert into the nostrils and tends to stay in place during sleep, or even during participation in high performance sports.

Comparative Laboratory test results indicate that Eeezi-Vent  is more effective than most passive devices available for reducing the work of breathing and thus enhancing the quality of sleep or athletic performance.

NOTE: This device should not be used  as a substitute for CPAP for severe Obstructive Sleep Apnea, but  may be used in combination with CPAP delivered via a nasal pillow or full face mask.

Trigger Finger Splint

Each finger has a tendon passing through a sheath leading to the activating muscle in the forearm. Trigger Finger occurs when a nodule develops on this tendon, causing it to get stuck in the sheath which each bending movement. The nodule usually results from inflammation in response to persistent pressure or constant overbending of the finger. Trigger Finger can be painful when you wake up and can not straighten the finger. The painful popping and clicking is called triggering and the inability to fully straighten is called locking.

Treatment includes activity modification, anti-inflammatory medication, splints, steroid injection and surgery.

Splinting the finger before going to bed is a good way of preventing locking during the night.

Unfortunately, the finger splints readily available are cumbersome and generally not reusable. They are usually held in place by tape so they are not easily removed.

We have designed a finger splint that overcomes the problems of other splints.

It is made of a single length of flexible thermoplastic tube that is transparent and needs no tape to hold it on the finger. It fits loosely around the finger,  but restricts the bending of the effected joint . It is easy to apply and remove and is reusable indefinitely. When used during sleep, it completely prevents the finger from locking. Since the splint is made of transparent plastic, it is nearly invisible and can be warn during the day without embarrassment.

Advantages:

  • Safe
  • Easy to apply or remove
  • Comfortable
  • Transparent
  • Reusable
  • Waterproof
  • Self-supporting
